My Story:

Hi, I’m Dr. Sarah Muñoz, and I am dedicated to fostering a therapeutic space where clients feel truly seen, valued, and supported. I believe that healing happens within relationships built on trust, collaboration, and cultural responsiveness. My approach is deeply rooted in social justice, trauma-informed care, and inclusivity, honoring all aspects of identity, including race, culture, gender, sexuality, and spiritual background.

I specialize in working with college students and adults in individual therapy focused on concerns surrounding trauma, religious and spiritual concerns, substance misuse, anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, suicidal ideation, and identity exploration. My training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) allows me to help clients process painful experiences in a way that fosters resilience and healing. Whether you are working through past trauma, questioning aspects of your faith or belief system, or seeking deeper self-understanding, I am committed to providing a nonjudgmental, empowering space for exploration and growth. I also work with couples in therapy, addressing concerns related to communication, trust, intimacy, conflict resolution, emotional disconnection, infidelity, relationship anxiety, and identity dynamics. My approach aims to strengthen relationships, enhance understanding, and foster a deeper connection between partners.
My Therapeutic Approach
At the core of my work is a deeply collaborative process—therapy is not something I do to clients, but with them. I view my role as a guide who walks alongside you, helping you recognize your strengths, explore your values, and develop coping strategies that align with your unique background and worldview. Coping mechanisms and interpersonal dynamics do not simply “stop working,” but instead, they may no longer fit the cultural or social context in which they are being used. Together, we will identify ways to adapt, heal, and move forward in ways that honor your lived experiences.
I employ an integrative approach, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Interpersonal Process Therapy (IPT). These modalities complement one another by fostering psychological flexibility, strengthening relational patterns, and deepening emotional awareness. While ACT helps clients explore values and cognitive patterns that shape their experiences, IPT focuses on relational dynamics and the impact of past relationships on current struggles.
Creating an Inclusive & Affirming Space
Ensuring inclusive and affirming care for marginalized populations is a core value of my practice. I am committed to providing a safe, nonjudgmental space where individuals of all identities, especially those from LGBTQIA+ communities, BIPOC individuals, immigrants, and those with disabilities, feel affirmed and supported.
I make a deliberate effort to educate myself on the unique challenges faced by these populations, ensuring that my language, interventions, and therapeutic approach reflect an understanding of systemic oppression and cultural diversity. I integrate holistic care, recognizing that mental health is deeply interconnected with physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Trauma-Informed & Social Justice-Oriented Care
I approach my work through a trauma-informed lens, always mindful of the profound and pervasive impact of trauma. I ensure that therapy unfolds at a pace that respects each client’s readiness, integrating strategies that promote safety, trust, and choice in the therapeutic process. My goal is to create an environment where clients feel empowered, not as passive recipients of treatment, but as active participants in their healing journey.
Beyond the therapy room, I am deeply committed to social justice and systemic change. I continuously engage in self-reflection, education, and advocacy, striving to amplify the voices of marginalized communities and challenge systems of oppression. This commitment shapes my work, guiding me to provide therapy that is not just inclusive, but actively anti-oppressive and justice-oriented.

Why I Chose Mosaic Therapy Collective
I was drawn to Mosaic Therapy Collective because of its unwavering commitment to cultural responsiveness, trauma-informed care, and social justice. This practice aligns deeply with my belief that therapy should be a space where all aspects of identity are embraced, and where individuals feel empowered in their healing process. I am eager to continue refining my skills in EMDR and religious/spiritual concerns while contributing to a collective that prioritizes equity, inclusivity, and compassionate care.

A Little About Me
Originally from California, I have called Colorado home since 2014. When I’m not working, you can usually find me snowboarding in the mountains, building intricate Lego sets, watching my favorite movies and TV shows, or spending time with my cat, Wallace. I believe in embracing both the joyful and challenging aspects of life, and I bring that perspective into my work, helping clients cultivate self-compassion, resilience, and a sense of meaning in their lives.
If you’re looking for a therapist who will meet you with empathy, humility, and deep respect for your lived experiences, I would love to connect with you.
